Ting-Fai Yu, PhD (Founder & Consultant)

Dr Ting-Fai Yu 余庭煇 (he/him) is an anthropologist who has extensively researched transnational Chinese LGBTIQ+ cultures. He has held faculty and research positions in Europe and Asia, and his research has been published in leading academic journals focusing on Asian societies, critical race theory, and gender and sexuality. An Asia specialist, he formerly worked for Logitech as the first DEI Lead to oversee the Asia Pacific region.

With extensive experience in academia and the corporate sector, Ting-Fai applies empirical evidence and qualitative methods to support organizations at different stages of the inclusion journey, helping cultivate a psychologically safe and interculturally competent workplace.

Ting-Fai has been invited to speak globally. His recent engagements include the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR) conference in Singapore (March 2024), Pride Symposium in Hong Kong (June 2024), and the QueerTech conference in Toronto (November 2024).

A native of Hong Kong, Ting-Fai’s work, study, and family have brought him to Australia, Canada, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and the UK. Now, he lives between Vancouver and Taiwan, the two places he calls home.

A gay Asian migrant, he is committed to working with historically marginalized groups to advance community empowerment and social justice.
